Fitting new vc

I have my replacement decoupler and a new vc which I am about to fit to my Syncro. Plenty of excellent instructions for fitting the decoupler but I would like to get some instructions for fitting the vc.
Looking at the Bentley manual it looks simple enough but experience tells me that it never works out that way.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Jon,
Check out these two links, in the first down at the bottom, there is detailed a procedure for replacing the VC.
Cheers.

Jon,
At point 3.a., Before removing ANYTHING, to retain both the propshaft and front diff present alignment positions, assuming you have no drivetrain vibrations at the moment, you should put a paint stripe at one point across the edges of the mating flanges of the propshaft, both front and rear. Also similar stripe of paint for left-right sideways as well as forwards-aft alignments of the adjustable plate that the front diff attaches to. Helps give you assurance you reinstall everything back the way it was, both now and for future reference. I used gloss enamel white, easier to see and it hangs on better.
Good luck. Cheers.
Ken

Pete
I purchased my vc from Bernd Jager in Germany. The total cost including bank charges was AU$1552.00 PLUS the cost of returning the old vc to Germany (I don't know what that will be) LESS the deposit refund of AU$560.00 (435.00EUR).
Have a look on his website www.vw-t3-bus-shop.de . These vc's are advertised as original, new vw parts.
