Footwell Insulating Kit

Someone recently mentioned footwell insulation.   Whilst looking for something else in Bentleys, I found installation instructions for what is obviously a VAG kit.  

I have never seen one and I am a bit dubious of the material, which is described as 'cardboard'.   Do any of our cold climate members have any experience with this kit?

Are you sure your van doesn't already have it? Look inside the lower radiator grille as below. Mine has it from factory. It is carboard! Gowesty are making them from plastic. Greg E

It's the same black cardboard that is around your radiator.

I think that it's a LHD thing to do the mod.
