Mark,
I did better take the guessing out of the equation. First , mine
did not look that flashy, it was in parts, all mechanicals overhauled, however
the body(Bath tub) been in bad shape. This of course is of no concern any more,
as these days one can buy any body part, even a complete hull !!
I sold the lot for $ 10 grand ! You think that was too much??
No, the guy got an almost complete 2nd car thrown in. Now that IS stupidity
in its purest form , I have to admit that. But that was then, now is now !
We all make those mistakes from time to time.... along the line
I also made some positive decisions (!) like loving my wonderful female person
on my side for over 52 yrs. Much better then a rusted old piece of metal......
And btw the thing did not have 2 difflocks as such, but it had
modified diffs which had no spider gears but a waver disk on each side shaft
and connecting pins which could freely slide from left to right but because
there were one pin more with no corresponding valley to go to it started to
lock itself when the going was tough. This also resulted in tremendous side
pressures which cracked many a gearbox. When it locked the noise was
frightening!
Hope I’nt bore you too much with this.....hartis
