Have just returned from a trip to Cooktown, up the coast down the inland routes. This trip has resulted in my need to conduct some maintenance on certain sections of the front suspension & maybe diff & or gearbox mounts. Having owned my 89 Syncro since new I have over time, forgotten what bushes I have replaced, but following an assessment all will hopefully become obvious. Now & it’s a big NOW I require some feedback, input & any advice which all would be helpful - Do I use rubber as per original, poly which now seems to be promoted extensively or a combination of both ? I look forward to replies. Cheers Matt.
Keep the diff and gearbox mounts rubber as the poly ones can introduce vibrations. Uwe

Second that, keep with rubber.

I have not been in a van with poly bushes, so cannot comment on them, but from people I have spoken to about them they offer a harsher ride, especially off road, in addition to that Uwe mentioned.

Thanks gentlemen for your input, your comments support what I suspected to be the correct action to take. German engineering, not often to be questioned. Cheers Matt.
Very true. If you’ve been happy with how it has been all these years, there’s nothing to improve on!
