Fuel economy

Hi all last night I rushed off after reinstalling a front cv assy and u seizing my front locker.
I drove 920 km north From mackay at 630 pm Palm cove at 3 am.
My car was empty upon departure I put 55 ltrs in it and again South of Townsville another 55ltr
I'm quiet surprised that works about to be 12 ltr per 100km.
I previously thought I was doing 16.
On the way home I towed a 5 m Quintrex on a dumbier trailer with a 60 hp merc and I used an additional 20 ltrs.
My specs are 2.4 MV engine
Diff6.17
Forth gear 0.78 diesel
Tyres225 75 r 16
Spedo shows 3950rpm at 120 km per he
Real speed -110 tops

Thats not bad Hamish.

As long as it all holds together - that is a good vehicle.

Its amazing how much fuel you can save by not having your foot to the boards to get up hills. I was pleasantly surprised by the increase in economy and I suspect with a decent fuel injection system you would get a further increase.
