Fuel filler breather hose

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has had the experience of the fuel filler breather hose leaking? And if so how I would go about replacing it.

It has developed a small hole where a cable tie holds it in place just under the wheel arch..many years of rubbing I'm guessing. It wont leak as long as I don't fill right up, but as soon as I do it weeps out of the small hole.

I have removed the plastic surround around the filler cap but I am unable to work out where/how it then travels to then come out of the body at the rear of the wheel arch..

Can I just cut and join it (safely) under the wheel arch or do I need to replace the whole hose?? Keeping in mind that It is just a breather hose..

Anyway, any thoughts regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Tony
Tony you need to remove the cover that leads to the snorkel. The hose runs from the filler neck down into the area behind the right tail light, through the bulk head into the wheel arch. Fit the new one working from inside this area. Leave the neck in place, put a small amount of lube on the inside of the hose and push it up onto the neck, don't forget to leave a clamp in ready to go. Did mine last week. Replaced the collapsed filler hose with a silicon (flouro lined) hose. Greg E

Thanks Greg,

Do I need to access the bulkhead from inside the filler area or remove the tail light?

Tony
