fuel filter

Your right about them being t3 only Phill. For some reason I thought they fit the early 2000's 2.0L, sorry. Greg E

It may not be Bosch. A lot of Bosch stuff sold in Australia is just
relabelled generic from Asia.

If it is an oil filter that is listed to suit a number of cars, then I would
not use it. eg. Ryco The T3 oil filters are unique. They do not fit any
other car.

(I do not know about the JK Bosch oil filters)

Greg,

I misread the Ryco catalogue.  I read the fuel filter column, not the oil filter column.  They don’t show an oil filter, probably because the requirement was too low to justify continuing manufacture.

I've seen a lot of VW engines with rods through the block with Ryco oil filters.

What's wrong with Ryco?  Part # Z63 with anti drain back valve made in China.
Bought recently from Repco as a spare, still listed in the Ryco catalogue.

Greg,

Thanks for that information.  I was told many years ago by Volkspower that the Ryco was not well designed but this is the first time that anyone has given a reason.

I will stick with VAG!

Sorry, now I remember,it was Smithtown. So it would be Nestle. The pies are good at Freedo though.
BTW the fuel filter I used was Mahle,I wouldnt use Ryco for the same reasons previously mentioned. The same reason why anyone should not by spare parts for their VW from Repco or Supercheap. You might as well go to Kmart.

I will never buy a Ryco oil filter again - had my oil warning buzzer going off on the rare occasion (and causing minor heart attack at the noise!) Could have been something else going wrong, but pretty sure it was ryco oil filter related.

Yes Freddo's pies are fantastic, I love the 'pin wheels', though I shouldn't mention them, in case they are sold out yet again when I drive past. Now a Freddo's also at Collongolook (spelling), any luck and we will have them in Sydney soon enough.

I agree the pies are great but bring on the by-pass! I cant stand Kempsey or Fredericktown! - 50 zone on a major highway is ridiculous!.

Agreed Skot. Simply crazy and what about a bit further on where there is a 40km school zone!!!! Work on the bypass is going well and we have not had rain for nearly 3 weeks. You can see all the work from the road to Hat Head. Plus Rob Oak has just got $35 million for the design and property acquisition for the highway duplication from Port Mac to Kempsey. The loss of Fredos Pies is no sacrifice. Best pies you will get are here in Port Mac from a German bakery. Awesome!! Happy Syncroing, Peter

Thanks for the update Peter.

Although Mr Oakshit needs to be removed from our planet.

Skot

Along with a few others.

A Caravelle has more seats.

Members all, please remember that this is a Syncro technical support resource, not a political shooting party.

Les
