fuel gauge sender

Hi Team

I need some help here
My fuel gauge always shows empty
Would anyone know the range of resistance of the fuel gauge sending unit?
What voltage is supplied to the the sender?

 Thanks
Tom
Voltage is not supplied to the sender - it's supplied to the 'upstream' side of the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster.
Before I forget ..
consider your voltage stabilizer that's on the back of your instrument cluster..
or even loose screw or connection on the fuel gauge itself.

You can see the basic fuel gauge circuit , one place anyway ..
page 97.75  of the Bentley manual ...
current track 64..
current track 64.The way I test a circuit like this is disconnect the Signal Wire from the fuel sender...
ground it, turn on the key .....
fuel gauge should be heading for FULL right away.

if it does ..you've tested all of the ccircuit except for the sender.

Thanks Scott

I  checked the wires the way you proposed
It seems that the wiring is OK
I tried different resistance settings on the connecting wires
40 Ohms nearly full
100 Ohms  1/3 full
my sending unit unit has about 450 Ohms  - too high -- result -- showing empty.
