Hi Hart,
Thanks for keeping me informed. I have therefore also booked my return voyage on Sun 10th so will be travelling with you both ways at the same times. Can't quite reconcile your total cost unless you're in with the Captain on the way back. Mine cost me $398 return viz To Devonport  Red Hot Deal $65 + 89 Vehicle = $154 from Devonport $155 Recliner+ $89 = $244 Total $398
Agree with your comments about the 2 Trakkas - saw the Peter Wilson one with Mark Kofl when it was about to leave Melbourne plus your one was rather special. Spoke last night to the new owner of my T3 - he is putting in new springs to raise the height plus taller section tyres and a winch and I thought it was already reasonably capable!
Hope to hear from the other Tasmanian tourists soon that they have made their bookings. Let me know if you need any assistance.
Cheers
Roger

Thanks John & Grace you will nicely round up our group and Grace we promise not to talk Syncros (or 4 Motions) all the time. You have already experienced that there is much in Tasmania to intrigue us.
The Participants are therefore:
John & Grace
Hartmut
Jurgen
Paul
Roger
5 vehicles 6 participants
Jurgen I have printed a copy of your booking/ticket which I will give you in Melbourne. If you want a copy immediately then use the following link:

https://www.spiritoftasmania.com.au/bookings/manage-my-booking/home/view-booking-details.html?tokenId=bb7bd805-1ddf-47cb-a205-ccf17e09bc8f

It would be worth all of us reading the terms and conditions of carriage but could I stress that our vehicles care likely to be seriously inspected for any Fruit, vegetables, plants, fish or fish products which are not allowed INTO Tasmania by their quarantine laws. There can be severe penalties plus these inspections usually delay  exit from the shipping terminal.
In Melbourne you will be asked if you are carrying any firearms. On a previous visit I had an inspector very confused on how he could look under the bonnet of my T3 to check for concealed weapons.
Jurgen I will need to talk to you about LPG cylinders as I doubt yours will have been stamped as meeting Australian standards. Would you confirm if you have gas cylinders ,their type and any European approval and I will check with the shipping company what should happen .
You should all be aware that you do not again have access to your vehicle once onboard until arrival and therefore a small bag with requisites required on board should be kept separate.
For John and Grace as you are travelling overnight probably exiting the terminal between 8-9 am on Tues. 19th Feb. could I suggest we meet at the McDonalds on the opposite side of the river to where the Spirit is tied up. You will need to go round into Devonport and keep the river on your right as you follow the signs or smell of hamburgers. At least 1 of us will be there from 8.30am. Coles is nearby for last minute supplies including replenishment of Fruit and vegetables etc. Do not panic about me making it a McTassie tour -there are not many in Tasmania.
You will have to decide whether to stick with your 8th March return or change to the 10th with us. We can discuss on the tour any modification necessary to do this.
I'm thinking the 4 of us travelling on the Mon 9am sailing should be at my house just North of the CBD by late afternoon on Sunday 17th Feb. John and Grace I presume you will just arrive down in time for the evening sailing.
I'm confident its going to be a grand tour.
Cheers
Roger

Pleased you can make it Theo but would rather close it off after that as 6 vehicles 7/8 people seems an optimum number. Is Christine coming too? I take it no one objects-speak now or for ever hold your peace.
Can you make the appropriate bookings ideally for departure Melbourne 9am Mon 18 Feb return from Devonport 7.30pm Sun 10 and advise me so that we can arrange to meet meet at Port Melb., Devonport, or even catch us up according to when you go over.
Its going to be a good mix of those people with previous experiences of Tassie to share and those enjoying it for the first time.

Cheers
Roger

Roger,
Booking is done the same as yours.
Unfortunately it is only me.  I hope the Syncro is not too much upset.
When I read your Itinerary I got a bit "Home Sick"
