Hi all,

So here a little explanition on my 16" crewcab.
First about the color, it's a standard color for traffic workers (and
garbage trucks hehehe). There are nog many people who like that color
here but what the heck, as long as i like it huh ?
First owner was Thyssen Gas in germany,  this car was used for
roadworkers working on gas. The first engine was a 95 hp MV engine.
The former owner put in Seikels, which lifted the car 5 cm higher and
put on oter ties : goodyear wrangler 225 75 r16 mts. He also had 2 diff
locks standard. Further alterations he did was Xenon headlights, power
steering and a little leather steering wheel, central locking and
electrical and heated mirrors. Heated rear window he had already. He
also put in a 112 hp engine (difference is mainly the catalyzer that the
95 hp has got and the 112 not. The engine should have about 80.000 km.
The gearbox was also renewed. Then he put in a LPG tank of 120 liters in
the "tresure trunk". The loading compartment was provided with aluminium
covering plates (i know, this is terrible english). Then he put in the
sliding back windows.
After i bought it i put on an original volkwagen T3 schabmuller winch
that came off another 16". I then bought a Buddich Dakar Bullbar. A few
weeks ago i bought a tristar 2wd to take apart. Most of the Tristar
interior is already in my doka. I had to put in a double passanger's
seat in it because we've got these for kids.
I had to put up a heroic fight to get the alu NATO unit from Holland, as
they are pretty rare here too. They open on three sites !
It was still partly nato green and parly sprayed dark bleu, so i
repainted it in the car's color.
The idea is now to make an opening through the back of the double cabin
to be able to crawl into the nato box. On the floor i would spred out a
mattress so the kids would have more room in the car.
At the back of the car, my friend is working an a tire support that
should come over the full width of the car, large enough to put on spare
tire, axe, spade and ladder to get on the roof.

Hi Mike,
How about telling the Australian syncro group about any
modifications to your
syncro 16"? I was a bit confused when I saw the photo of you syncro as
there are only
two 16" syncros in Australia and they are both white. Your colour is not
seen in
Australia although I have seen it before on my trips to Europe.

Read about my syncro at;
