OK, so I'm far from the first person to complain about draining/re-filling oil on the syncro. What a fun job!
Anyway, figures after a few long drives was a good time to do the oil.
How often do you all change your oil?
I had the front diff oil changed when I got it, so quite a few years ago , just replacing that with new oil. See the picture of the sump plug. Nothing metallic, but there was an amount of sludge in the bottom. Not sure what that is, or if it's normal?
The rear, I changed oil a couple of years ago. See picture of the hairy drain plug. When I last change the oil it looked like this also.
I assume this means something is on the way out? There was more, much finer particles in the oil also. So the oil is far from needing replacing, but best to get these particles out of the oil.
So this that level of magnetic particles common for a Syncro?
