German Visitors

We have a new member of the list, Arne, who is planning to visit
Australia starting 23 December. Here is an extract from his email:

My name is Arne Haas, i live in the south-west of Germany, near
Stuttgart (easy to find in google earth e.g. ;))

I´m a owner of a T3 Syncro, build in 1991 with highroof and complete
camping furnishing (selfmade).

To my self, i´m 25 and a student in woodworking technology.
I´m still a member at the www.ig-syncro16.de (nickname
Kleinersyncro) and some other german forums too.

But now, i´m going on a trip with a friend to Japan, Australia and
New Zealand for five months.

We, Andy and my self, will arrive in Sydney on Dec. 23. 2008. We
planned to stay in AUS till end of February. But we don´t know where
we could go there. Maybe someone of you have some ideas what we
should see in this time in Australia. So we hope, we could get some
information from you and your club members. Perhaps it´s posible
some of you to meet on a meeting e.g. of your club.

Maybe somebody can help us to find a car for this time, preferred a
VW T3 or something else (stationwagon, van, campervan). Or somebody
knows someone who wants to sell his car.

You can also contact me at arne_haas@gmx.de.

Nice greetings from Germany,

Arne

We have some very active members around Sydney, so what can we do to
meet and greet Arne and show him a bit of Australia?

New Zealand Members: Arne is also visiting New Zealand, date not
specified.

Les
This is not a double posting. I meant to send it as a special
notice so that it would get through to some members who receive only
special notices.

Arne,

Mark lives in Sydney (I live 1000 km away in Melbourne) and is the best person to organize a few things for you when you arrive.  Knowing Mark, you will be very well looked after.

Too bad there isn't enough notice. There is a very active T3 owner's club in Tokyo. In fact I just played
host to one of their members who visited here in California. He even wrote about his adventures touring
the US for the magazine that he writes for. The complaint I had is the insertion of a very unflattering pic
on me in the 4-issue series of travel articles.

You might still try to contact a fellow called Yoshi who is part (president, i think) of the Vanagon Nippon
Members Club  http://www.max.hi-ho.ne.jp/yosh/vgn/vnmc.html The website is in Japanese but Yoshi
does communicated in English as well.

It's amazing to find fellow enthusiasts in so many different countries. I had to good fortune to be driven
around Pataya Beach in Thailand by a fellow T3 fan just this year.

Regards,
BenT

Dear Mark,
If life seems dull thought you might entertain Arne with something similar to the following but in your Syncro.

Cheers
