Go Westy Springs

Hi Seb,

I have OME shocks fitted to my Syncro and I am thinking of using Go Westy lift springs; are the standard OME shocks long enough for the extra travel and you happy with the spring/shock combination?

What seats do you have fitted they look quite comfortable?

Hi David , a lot of people here in the states are using that combo , both the new progressive rate springs and the old H & R springs. From the measurements I have taken on the Boge Syncro shocks vs the ome shocks , they are the same. These measurements are from parts made for the USA 14'' market. I do know some of the SA Boge shocks are different dimensions, sorry I dont have those numbers.
Also I have noticed that the GW springs use a ball joint spacer so tha correct camber adjustment can be achieved . I used to sell the ball joint spacers too , but stopped once a few customers reported that they came loose.
A lot of my customers are tossing the ball joint spacers and installing Burley Motorsports upper control arms.  http://burleysmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=15&zenid=83aic1pbhhuql4a1k3qpi10qh7

Hi Mate!

I can't complain about the combo. The ride is quite smooth, i have a big bull bar, plus the spare. I tried a big bump here with some speed, no worries @ all. I put additional pads in the back, the Go Westys recommended that, cause i have a Subaru Conversion.

I have 51cm from the middle of the Hubcap to the edge of the body. Running 15inch 215/75 R15. No rubbing problem or anything.

REally happy with this combination it's just a pain in the bum to get them in. They are quite strong to compress. It took me 1 hour per side in the rear, and about 5 hours each for the front and a couple of sliced knuckles..hehe

The seats are aftermarket Repco seats. Supercheap has similar seats at the moment for $148 ea. I just welded and screwed them onto the customized original frame. Works and looks perfect. See how they go on a longterm trip.

Cheers

Seb
Hi David,

I live in Perth and run that spring/shock combo.

Shoot me an email if you want to have look/drive.
Works well unless you have a light van, then your front shocks will top out.
