Group intro

Just joined the group. Have owned several VW's over my many years, not
to sound too old. Have lived in OZ for 9 years previously from Wales,
UK. Have just got back into VW's by chance, bought a 1989 T25 vanagon
(Caravelle), have converted to camper for weekends away. Have only just
discovered the SYNCRO. I'm hooked I would love one. Can anyone tell me
what sort of money I would be looking at paying for a good one. Am
capable of all mechanical work and repairs so broken ones no probs and
welcome, as long as parts available. Love to hear from anyone. If slow
replying it's because not always at computer and new at this sort of
thing. Thanks for listening.
Hi John,

Welcome to the group - Syncros can be very alluring!

I have a Caravelle GL Syncro with full camper fitout.

Keep your eyes out on Trading Post / Carpoint / Drive etc and you'll find Syncros from time to time. They are generally available for around $10K - $12K for nothing particularly special. I have seen less expensive for poorer models, and mid to late teens for good campers (Trakka, Camperize etc) right up to $28,000 for a Trakka that is being advertised now (owned by a widow near Penrith NSW).

Good luck in the search.

Regards
Mark.

John,

They come up on eBay and motor vehicle sales sites, so be prepared to run regular searches.  We have a number of members who do this just out of interest and they forward interesting vehicles to the group, so keep up to date on posts to the group.  You might have to be prepared to travel to get one.  A number of eastern members have gone to Perth to buy a Syncro, then driven it home.  Where are you living?

Hi Les,

Thanks for your suggestions I will keep them in mind and check regularly. I am living in Sydney . I suppose traveling to find one would be good, I could combine with a nice holiday. I will keep my eyes peeled. Thanks.

John

Thanks Mark,

Yes I agree, Have you seen the footage of Syncro’s on You Tube, some of these guys take them anywhere, and they go anywhere pretty much.

I see you are not to far away from myself. I am at Raby. Solutions Outsourced is that your business?
