Guess it did what it was suppose to

I’ve been going to a local mountain bike track a mate of mine is building, it’s tucked up in the Bush in karuha North of Newcastle.
I’ll go every second day or so. There’s a great big hill climb to get there (I’ll take a picture next time I swear)
Anyways, typical aussie Bush there as broken branches and crap everywhere.
I managed to give the bash plate that protects my aux water pump a bit of a workout today. At first I was upset that I will have to build another, but realistically I could be replacing the pump.
For those interested the forward plate (seems I though of it at the time is replaceable and made of 2024 t4 aluminium, so is not cheese.

Nasty all the same Nils.
So are all added-on underneath components i.e., the water pump & tank & “rooned” shield, installed at least no lower or even better, higher than the syncro skid-rail?

Pretty sure my underneath Trakka water tank + undershelf below it that the pump sits on are no lower than the skid-rail, maybe a bit still above, and touch wood, not yet impacted even the undershelf. Hope I haven’t now jinxed myself saying that!
Cheers and thanks for posting.

I have a fuel tank and a water tank under there which are both higher than the protection rails for the central driveshaft but still they are vulnerable. No damage yet - even from the Rover trail but possible.

I added a sump protector as the short Smallcar sump sits basically level with the syncro skid plate using 4mm thick aluminum checker plate. It sits out from the sump by about 25mm so it has some deformation before it hits the sump.

Hopefully I wont ever need it.

Oh this sits much high than the center rails, only just below the side sills.

Just got unlucky

Gunna have to stop rock climbing Nils.
