hall sender unit problem (also posted on US Syncro site)

I have a suspect hall effect unit in my distributor (a series of smaller pulses
appear on the ocilliscope after each pulse at idle, + the tacho needle bounces all over the
place at idle.)
I need a Bosch part number for a new compatible hall unit as here in Australia
there is no part number listed and the dealer says it is only available with a new
distributor. Is this correct ?

Keep your old one as I would like to look at it.

The shaft isn't loose is it?
