Hall Sensor

Greg E.

I'm a bit confused about the "New" Hall Sensor for $80.00 on eBay,

compared to the OEM version from Just Kampers for $124.30.

Are they interchangeable?

Cheers,

Theo

Theo, you would have to contact the seller to check the brand, but yes it is for a t3.

I was following with interest the recent discussion of the HALL SENSOR,
and not knowing much about it, did a web search.

Came across this very helpful U-Tube movie by a fellow who tells us what HSs are for, how they work and he shows us how to swap one over.
He is working on a diesel Golf, but mentions Vanagons on his way through, so sounds like it is relevant to us.
At the end of the film, I felt confident to test for a faulty HS and if necessary, replace a faulty one.

Thanks for that - very useful.
I too have come across  a utube video which demonstrates how to replace the hall sensor with one of the same type.

PS My issue has not been resolved yet but I will be sure to post when I do.
Unfortunately the timing has not been good (Christmas etc.)

Hi Peter,
Nice find! Worth recording for future reference.

For tracking down another fault by a DIYer, the following link is worth watching, took him 3+ months from start to finish, starting with the cheaper parts and working through to the more expensive. An example of what T3 owners are up against trying to fault find! A handy video to learn where important parts are "hidden".
Cheers.
Ken
