HARTMUT

Nice to see Hartmut starring in the latest issue of VW Mag Australia. Looks a great jack Hart.

Hi Bruce,
This Jack is one in a million....my dad bought it for me some 50 years ago and I keep carrying it around the globe... First Germany, than South Africa, now Oz, where next ???
In Beetle times it was the preferred lifting device of VW workshops. I saw on the workshop copies included in the article that a gadget for checking Beetle torsion rods was available..
There you go .
Thanks for your mail Bruce, much appreciated and btw I love the mag. So much more interesting than Woman's Daily don't you think ???

Or the newspaper................but we won't go too far down that line. I quite enjoy VWMA that is for sure.

I don't have any gems sitting in my shed....

Can I add it has been invaluable with getting my gearbox out, then in, then out again and hopefully back in again next week!!! The jack is a real quality piece of German engineering.

Peter from Port

Any chance of posting a picture of the jack? Greg

Hi Greg,
pics are coming tomorrow. maybe steinbock.de would sell us the construction drawings ? Worth a try. must ask Craigh from VWMA
where he detected the work sheets. would give me an idea how to construct the engine / gearbox cradle.

Hi Richard,
this makes my day !!!  I will contact the company and give them the details of my unit as is 100%
original. I never restored the paintwork as I never new the correct colour. this is solved now as the RAL colour is listed. they also sell 2nd hand units plus add ons to take engines , gearboxes or Beetle torsion bar testing. Hope for more hours in each day…. Hartmut
