Headlight Protectors

They probably do not think it is cost effective. A bit shortsighted perhaps. Or maybe their business is so bad they can't afford to cross-border litigation. I am personally aware of at least 3 businesses here in California which is not just using the name but going as far as making their business appear like a well franchises in South East Asia. None of the companies had any presence here except for the legal challenges. None were successful I'm stopping the copycats. None had trademark their names in the US.

Hey Greg,
Awesome description of some of the pop tops installed over the years! Been too busy to post this week but just wanted to say how good the DOTVW was this year and how nice it was to have the company of those from NSW, thanks so much for coming down for the weekend! I hope I or some of us can make it to the Nationals or another event up that way some day. Now speaking of headlight protectors did anyone check out the hand made ones on the 2WD bus from  Mildura? Not a bad effort, anyone get a photo close enough? Cheers all.

US headlights are a perfect backdrop for a romantic evening. They are not bright enough to blind your date and lets your Syncro cast a shadow over it's light pattern when other vehicles are behind you. Sexy!

As for road illumination, you'd be better off with beeswax candles.

The original headlight protectors sold as a Volkswagen accessory were the stick on type. (VA 088 500)
Later aftermarket ones were clip on Aunger brand (HLP-8207) They were sold through Repco and also fitted some sort of Suzuki. I bought some NOS from a Repco store in Perth a few years ago.

Let me know if anyone finds a supply.

An alternative is the steel mesh type, but I cannot remember who makes them. They look like an option from the Panzer division.

I believe that's the outfit that Francesca got the Mefro wheels from for the group purchase. In the States, I know a couple of fellows who bought decouplers, & Trailmaster dampers/shocks from them.
