Hooray, at last, we have Steve up and running on the group.
As a fill-in or members in states other than NSW, Steve is of the Muller & Muller family that has been in VW’s since the earliest days that they were marketed in Australia .

4 more Syncros in one w/end, not bad going ! The beauty is of course that every single one is different from the next never two the same. We will never run out of looking (eyeballing for Ken), comparing, evaluating and so on. Let's face it, it's a VERY special past time, one I wouldn't want to miss..............
Ciao Hartmut/Hartis or Hardee as Stevo calls me.

Les,If this is an allusion to the "Who's Aaron? ;-)", that was made with tongue firmly in cheek. Reason for the smiley face.Welcome to the group, Steve. You'll have to excuse the occasional spelling misstep. You see we had this fellow called Noah Webster who was charge by our gov'ment to make changes to the Queen's English to make it less English. Go figure.BenTfrom the Republik of Kalifornya
Ben,
No, actually. Australia is a rather big place and our members are allover it. It is unlikely that many of our younger members would know of the Muller brothers at all so this was just a brief introduction.
Due to your underprivileged education in the Queen’s English, you are excused the odd lapse.

She remarked that she thought Australia was all semi-arid and full of kangaroos and was surprised to see greenery in the video. To which I remark that though I have never had occasion to make it to Oz yet, I was quite sure there would be the occasional oasis and oil drilling rigs amid the roaming camels if she would just look hard enough.;-)

> Yes,thank god for Hollywood.Otherwise we would no nothing about the US either.Mel Gibson was normal when he drove a Falcon and played in the sand.Mel introduced the US to the REAL OZ. Mad Max was afterall, an Australian production. I used to drive a '64 Falcon as a 13 year old (yes!) in Asia. Fast forward 27 years later and my kid is driving a '66 Falcon at age 15 in Nebraska (where the ex moved).
Poor kid grew up in San Francisco. Nebraska might as well be Australia. She craved a Honda Civic. So naturally, I drove over a VW Jetta as a high school graduation present. It was the only foreign car in the town she was living in. For that matter, I was the only foreign looking fellow in the place. First remark I overheard was, "No way that's your Dad." Last word from the kid was, "Don't worry, Dad. It just looks like 'Village of the Damned'. I'm like a Volkswagen here. Everybody's got blond hair and blue eyes. I look special." (What would we do without Hollywood?) I replied, paraphrasing from a Hollywood movie, "Honey, it's like that movie with the French guy saying, "...in Paris I sound just like everybody else. Here (in the US), I am like Superman...".
She got rid of the Falcon and drove into the sunset feeling like Mel Gibson. A year later, her friend crashed the VW in the sand. OK, I'm lying now. Her friend crashed into a snowbank.
Be glad, I'm not in OZ. Otherwise, I'd be special too.
BenT
