Howqua Valley Vic Weekend 15-17 May 2015

  Sorry to hear that the Blue Mountains adventure fell through but hope it proves only a postponement that allows even more members to go next time.
Down in Victoria despite a week of rain that had all of us turning up with our gum boots the weather turned out dry and sunny if a tad chilly overnight. Thanks Gerald and Robyn for organising it and supplying the much enjoyed damper and pancakes over the camp fire. They came in their Caravelle Camper with friends Richard and Trish in a very thoughfully equipped T3 with LSD(the type that stops your wheels spinning rather than causes you to see Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds) Tom came with his work in progress replacement T3 containing a rugged blow up Austrian canoe which he navigated down river with Gerald as displayed in the photos. A ring in was also accepted in a T5 Trakka.
Thanks everyone - I enjoyed your company.

Looks like fun even though the tracks look a bit lavender.

Its too cold for me to cope with adventures now - even with a fire.

I also bought one of these from Aldi about 2 years ago and its still in the box - never had time to use it......

I think they sell them about once a year - probably around late spring?

Tom,

I would totally agree.

It was only intended for the creek at Crescent Head but the oysters all over the rocks stopped me using it there so I was just going to explore Terrigal lake with it instead - nothing that would possibly even graze it!.

Still yet to do that - still sitting in my shed.

Thanks for the info. These boats look good but unfortunately a little above the amount I want to spend on one. I wouldn't be using it a lot so a bit hard to justify.

Bridgestone AT are my favourite. Biggest I can get in the tray is 215/75/15 deflated with a longer bolt and spacer.

I've just met a German syncro owner in Melbourne that said Dave Finnie from NZ will be there.

If all going to plan, Dave andPenny will arrive in Hamburg on Aug 04 same as me and if possible I will bring them along to 30 years syncro . They are from Oamaru NZ . Last year they imported a Diesel Doka TriStar (!) from England. It still needs some body rebuilt before it can be registered.
Their place is a real VDub Mecca , everybody visiting the South Island must pay them a visit !

Hi everybody

I have just caught up with the postings from Hartmut and Phil re the German Syncro anniversary.
We have been here for 2 weeks and are enjoying the heat wave, as opposed to the NZ winter.
We are currently driving the syncro high roof camper which belongs to Arne who spoke to Phil.
We will have this at the 30yr anniversary in Berlin as he is in the big country and not Germany.
It would have been good to bring our Tristar and have 2 rhd models here but it wasn't to be this time.

Looking forward to meeting so many friends at that weekend and learning lots more about syncros.
