I have just come back from the Air cond man and he showed me the old TX valve on the system is a Flare fitting and the new one is an O ring type.
which takes the TX valve replacement back to a lottery. unless anyone has any success with other flare type TX valves that have worked in a Prestige system.

Sorry to hear of that mismatch. So is your AC guy unable to source a similar specced TX valve as the TX8731 but with flare fittings?
Alternatively I wonder if the solution may be to change to O-Ring connectors either side of the TX valve and then use the TX8731? In a similar solution, Yurik and I had this done to the two main hoses coming off the compressor head so a new compressor with O-Ring connectors could be installed.
