Did you buy a new one for a spare as well?

Hi Eddie. Same thing happened to me out the back of Gyra with lots of high beam. I installed the headlight relays and it worked a treat. The lights are even brighter. Then upgraded the bulbs as recommended without going crazy with too much power or crazy blue lights. I can now see at night and don’t have to worry about high beam.

Skot. Got mine from a guy who is linked in with the Samba site. I was not confident in doing it the way that Phil recommends. Electrically challenged!!!! I also bought his starter relay kit before we found that mine already had one installed. This kit is for sale at a discount price if anyone wants it.
Cheers, Peter from Port
The only thing I will add is that 4 relays are not needed if you use bosh relays with two 87 terminals.

It will work just as good but it's just for safety.

Light load was around 28 amps and the fuse was 30amp. He didn't check that the fuseholder was rated at 10 amps.
Also when you turn your lights on, you draw over 100 amps per light for a fraction of a second. That's a lot for one relay.

Yes, because the starter circuit still goes through it unless you also fit a starter relay.

Ignition switch
If one does the modification to the lights do you still need to carry a spare
ignition switch?
