I made myself a Syncro |
| Ok then.. If anyone going to Valla wants a Syncro shirt like the one I made I can do a Limited edition Run. So far I have the only one as pictured. My friend Graphic Designer Dan from Byron and I spent 3 hours scouring the web and Slaving over Photoshop to make the design up out of existing images found on the web and my blog. Not sure who the artwork belongs to so can't credit them or ask permission.. Since this is just for fun I hope they don't mind. The T shirt I have feels nice on and is Slim fit. We'll be there, arriving Thursday, staying at the Albatross.
Still undecided as to whether to come in the Syncro or the Bergmeister.
If we come in the Bergmeister the trip to and from Sydney will be a relaxing cruise,
but even with it's LSD we never take it off-road.
If we come in the Syncro, we would like to do some off-roading with you, that is if the timing is right.
We would prefer not to camp, partly because I don't want to strip the Syncro and set it up for camping.
We haven't a clue as to where the routes so far mentioned are, where they start and where they finish.
Can someone help us to decide ?

Peter,
We could do a similar thing to what we did last time which was the rover trail.
This is a fairly challenging trail but all the syncros and Neil's bay beast easily managed it last time.
This took us about 2-3 hours last time in good weather. Who knows what we will encounter this year?
I have attached a couple of maps of the trail and a link to a U-tube video from some other 4wders.

Hopefully they all work.
Plan is to meet at 10:30am on the Valla VW Spectacular Friday morning. All VW based vehicles welcome.

| Hi Peter, Here is a link to Rover Trail on 4x4 earth. http://www.4x4earth.com.au/tracks.html?site=1399_Coffs-Harbour--Rover-Trail Type some searches into YouTube for a gander at some of the trail. My description is that last time we did it it was dry. My van made it up all the steep sections without using diff locks and only a little wheel spin. My VC works well. There is an optional more difficult track that was heavily rutted and I think only a couple of vans attempted that track last time on the way back. All paths lead to Rome and no one got lost! As it mentions on 4x4earth the track has a medium difficulty and some steepness that would def come into play if there have been recent rains otherwise pretty easy. We could do a similar thing to what we did last time which was the rover trail.
This is a fairly challenging trail but all the syncros and Neil's bay beast easily managed it last time.
This took us about 2-3 hours last time in good weather. Who knows what we will encounter this year?
I have attached a couple of maps of the trail and a link to a U-tube video from some other 4wders.

My friend Graphic Designer Dan from Byron and I spent 3 hours scouring the web and
Slaving over Photoshop to make the design up out of existing images found on the web and my blog.
Not sure who the artwork belongs to so can't credit them or ask permission..
Since this is just for fun I hope they don't mind.
The T shirt I have feels nice on and is Slim fit. I'm sure all sizes are avail.

I am very keen to get there and hope my syncro is as keen and stays operation till then.
Starting to chase up a de-coupler now but Florian from the lowest gear is somewhat elusive and does not answer emails to his website. I might look at the AA transaxle version.
All going well - See you up there - I may be limited with time to do too much exploration as I have to get back to Valla in the arvo to meet up with my wife and kids.

I will be struggling to get the time to be there too but my Kombi loves hanging out with Syncros. It performs well off road but I lose my nerve when not in the company and back up of a real 4WD.

Starting to chase up a de-coupler now but Florian from
the lowest
gear is somewhat elusive and does not answer emails to
his
website. I might look at the AA transaxle version.
All going well - See you up there - I may be limited
with time to
do too much exploration as I have to get back to Valla
in the arvo
to meet up with my wife and kids.
