Thanks for finding and posting…an interesting read.
I like the idea of the extra protector plate…has anyone on this forum been down that path?

Definitely not VAG. I would say made locally.

What is the number stamped on it Ken? Someone can look it up from this.

Looks a little like the turbo diesel version (that we never got over here) but it does appear to be a custom made version.

Very interesting Ken. I have seen in the past versions others have made. Would not be that hard to recreate in aluminium plate and fit to nutserts in the rails under the engine.
