Just got a quick internet window to say that the Tour has reached the Cape. Been through some awsome country and roads including Lockhart river to the east, where Rudi left every-one gobsmacked going through the Palmer River crossing on the Frenchman's track diversion. Its was 1.5 metres deep with very difcult entry and exits. The local caretaker/manager at Moreton Telegraph Station (Brett) where we stopped next must drive a Toyota, because his comment was 'bugger me'. Luckily we had the video to prove it. Most then went on up the old Telegraph track, but, at the first crossing which was quite severe, I decided that discretion was the better part of valour in the T5 (along with a couple in a Landcruiser), and went 'rally driving' back around the bypass. I'll let the others tell you about that track.
Have to wait for our return to get the full story.
