LED cabin lighting .. update

Peter and All,
I can now update my previous post about LED cabin lighting failure.

Recapping, one of two 41mm long x 6 small LED lights for $19.95 each from Jaycar unexpectedly failed recently after only a little use over say 2-3 years. Checking again with Jaycar, I found this particular LED light was NLA. Probably meant I wasn't the only one to have experienced premature failure so they would have discontinued it.

So again from Jaycar I purchased instead two of a newer design LED cabin light, this time 41mm long x 3 larger LED lights for $14.95 each, model no. ZD-0488. After installing and testing them in the dark (as if in an overnight camping scenario) I have to say these are just as bright if not brighter than the previous x 6 small LED light.

Anyone looking for superior illumination for less power consumption from your standard cabin lights that run off the starting battery, these leave the original 12vdc filament festoon globe for dead in terms of illumination and draw down on the battery. They come with a 12 month warranty. I'll do a show and tell on these at The Nationals if you're interested.

Cheers.
Ken

I agree with Ken that they are a worthy upgrade. They use only 10% of the power and are much brighter than the incandescant lights.

I have a nice one of these in my revised pop top.

Works brilliantly. One light turns night into day - amazing.

Mark,
Yes that is the one. Note the other two models are shorter in length and having only 2 LED's so have less illumination/power consumption.
