Just a heads up that the Old Bar VW Festival takes place on the upcoming Oct long weekend, details as follows:

Also, if going, for those with no booked accommodation, just wondering if there is enough interest in a syncro circle freecamp up there someplace for one or two nights ... optionally say Friday and Saturday nights, pretty much along the lines of what we did at the VW Nats in Sydney last May? From memory we had eight participants that time and worked really well ... no complaints received!!!! HA!

Any others interested as well, please respond asap, knowing numbers early would help a lot whether this is a goer or not.

Still seven weeks out and as this is a first timer free camp attempt for this locality and so asking here last week for a discussion to start on this topic.
So I'm keen to gleen ideas from all members here who have Old Bar locality knowledge about known "space" that would suit an overnight camp spot, add them to a possibilities list for consideration, even as late as on the day. Anyone please? TIA.

I'm still looking to make the trip down but not certain yet. If I do get down with the family, we are more likely to look for a caravan park (maybe Taree if they have availability). If not, and I come alone would like to join in the free camp!

I'm just planning my trip up from MEL to Old Bar, will be around that area presumably on Friday evening.

One other point to clarify for attendees. The van tagalong takes place from the airstrip at 4pm on Saturday, not as previously stated as Saturday AM. This may affect your arrival time plans accordingly.

Present count for known syncros coming is 6 definites & 3/maybe's. Anyone else attending?

Just a heads up that the Old Bar VW Festival takes place on the upcoming Oct long weekend, details as follows:

Main Festival activities on offer is participating is an optional monster tagalong on the Saturday AM and then on the Sunday a bringing together of VW vans on the oval adjacent to the airstrip in a yet again attendance record breaking attempt.


So begs a few questions .... who's going? Anyone? Everyone?


Also, if going, for those with no booked accommodation, just wondering if there is enough interest in a syncro circle freecamp up there someplace for one or two nights ... optionally say Friday and Saturday nights, pretty much along the lines of what we did at the VW Nats in Sydney last May? From memory we had eight participants that time and worked really well ... no complaints received!!!! HA!

No dog again this year, as were once again unable to get into Lanis. Next year for sure!
