Lubrication

Hi folks,

been offline for a bit with domestic issues.
I have had one very interesting meeting with a German buddhist monk. Sitting in the back of his syncro down at my local beach.
As the sun set in the back of his syncro temple, we discussed all things about folks wagons und syncro .
I spotted one thing that I thought was worth sharing. Grease nipples on the front ball joints.
Has anybody tried this, and is it possible to do similar with the front
upper suspension bushes ? I only thought of that later .

Still travelling.

Mark
I know people that have done this with other cars.
They change their ball joints frequently.

also I think the rubber seals tend to degrade and split before the actual joint has worn out so i think the extra grease wouldn't solve much. Once the covers have gone all the muck can get it in.

I've got a set of new ones for mine waiting to be fitted because the rubber covers have split. They were pretty cheap to buy. My mechanic fitted a replacement rubber boot to one side at the top a couple of years ago and that has started to split also.

The new ones have a touch neoprene seal rather than the old rubber ones so will probably last a bit better. Time will tell.
