Lucy,
Tell him about the heavy traffic and low gears;
that will help him to home in on it.
The ECU and the engine management system is, as far
as I know, the same as the 2WD T3, which means that the diagnostics that apply
to the 2WD T3 will be the same in the Syncro. The engine fitted
to the Australian delivered T3's is the MV, by the way.
If the shuddering is intermittent, it is most
probable that the ECU is OK and that it is getting the occasional signal that is
affecting the ignition or fuel injection.
Keep us posted.
Les

Thanks Les, the mechanic has sent the starter motor off to be rebuilt and is replacing the spark plugs which were pretty ordinary apparently. Then a tune up and a test drive around to investigate the shuddering. I will talk to him about the ECU too which could explain that? (Note the shuddering is not all the time and the Mech didn't notice it) I noticed it sporadically while driving in heavy traffic and low gears. Cheers, Lucy..
