Mid-Northcoasters

Hey all.
Harts garage is closed this Christmas,so there has been some interest in Skot coming up to Hat head for the day,and Bill to come down for a beer.
The proposed day would be in the first week of January.Skot to name a day.
Any others up that way like to catch up again??
BenC

Hi Ben. I am away in Tassie until the 8th. Hart is home the same day but it might be too late to catch up. By the way, my Syncro is now back to standard height, albeit with 15” rims so it is still a bit higher than standard. I put original Syncro springs back in the front and took out the spacers at the back. They were made of wood!!! I must say the slightly lower centre of gravity gives for a better road feel and I still have enough height for any off road stuff I might do.  As a result I have some front high lift springs for sale if anyone is interested. Cheers, Peter

Peter how high was your wheel center to arch with the longer springs in the front and how much do you want for them did you have standard shocks ?
My ex telstra van is getting some spares as ive purchased the front diff discs drums linings passenger door and some other bits for what I thought was reasonable from Bills mate Luke, (wrecking a running complete Syncro) Nice guy and a pleasure to deal with
Regards Pete W SEQ

Hi Pete,
Don't you bugger up that superb Trakka! Remember you can't stand heights! It'll tip over on that side slope up the back paddock!
Cheers.
Ken

Hey Ken, The sprimgs would go on the other Telstra Syncro if they are higher than the ones on it as its already 75 mm higher at the wheel arch than the Trakka.
Best Regards Pete

Hey Pete, would of jumped at the chance for the springs last year, but I think, like you have observed, the bus runs better a little closer to the ground.
I will be still up that way after the 8th,so will probably call in to see Hart,I will let you know.

Skot has planned to come up to Hathead,Thursday 3rd January.
I will go down and get him from Cresso, and bring him up via some tracks I know. There is some short easy tracks and some beaches we may do around Hathead. And get a few photos.
Bill and Marg, hope to see you too,and any others who are up that way then.

Hey Ben. I've got your mobile no so will try to ring 2nd jan to firm up times with you and Scott and any others. Sounds great. Bill
Gday Bill, what number do you have??also reception is poor at Hathead,so if you cant get me,come, down drive through the caravan park and down to the day visitor carpark down the back of the caravan park.If you are at the footbridge then turn right and up over a little sandy-grassy hill, through the tents and down to the picnic area under the paper bark trees.
This is where I park my bus,and I cant miss you,as my tent is just over the levy.
See you soon.

BTW if you are at the boat ramp, you need to head south,up and around the toilet block.

Hi All,

On our recent adventure to Valla, I was talking to a fellow syncro
nutter from Byron who had a white (I think ex-telstra) syncro with a
white pop-top.

I cant remember his name but he was from Byron Bay.

He was after a white sliding door in good nick.

I have a mate who has one he will give away - it is straight and rust
free but it was a panel van door which has had a window cut into it.

If you are out there in syncro land and still need the sliding door -
let me know.

Cheers,

Skot
