My new syncro

All,

Finally after many months of looking I found a syncro.
I just bought the syncro from one of the list members, Andres Romero. It used to be the syncro owned by Peter van der Giessen.
I will turn the van into a camper, using a factory westfalia pop up roof I imported many years ago (someone on this list will not be happy now since he was trying to talk me into selling it to him).
In addition I will install a different engine - at this stage a 2 liter Golf engine (AGG, 1997 Golf MKIII). I have put a few in standard T3's before and
also installed one in a list members van many years ago. For that reason I am will part with the current engine.
If anyone is interested in the engine, please let me know. It should be available within 3 or so weeks. From what I understand the engine has done around 120.000 kms. I'll give it a good checkup once I have the syncro at home and provide the details to anyone interested.

I hope it is ok to offer the engine on this list - please let me if this is not wanted on the mailing list.

Cheers

Hans

Hans,

Yes, one of the functions of the group is to let members know of items for sale.  We draw the line at traders.

Jusat wanted to let people know that Hans put the golf 2 litre motor in my syncro in 2003. Compared to the trouble one has with the waterboxer it is great. I recommend it to anyone else - more power, more reliable, quieter and better fuel consumption.
Thanks Hans.

Hans,
I get slightly better than the waterboxer, generally around 12 l/100km.
I have not had any trouble going through water, but not been in it more than about 300mm.
