Hi all just wondering what tyres people are running on there syncro? I have been running Bridgestone Duravis 15" light truck tyre and have had a great run out of them but they arent available anymore apparantly
they were great for my needs, quiet on the bituman, good in gravel and good in the rough stuff. Any other suggestions for an allround tyre greatly appreciated. Greg
I have the Destination AT 205 x 15".
The spare fits under the front, reasonably quiet on the blacktop and good mileage.
Thanks Gerald I will check these out
I have those Destinations as well. A good reliable tyre. Only small issue I find is that they are “lumpy” first up after sitting for a while but fine once they warm up. They wear really well.
Cheers, Peter
Hi Gerald just wondering if you have a clam shell spare wheel carrier your spare fits into or the solid heavy plate as I have on my Trakka. thanks
No, not the clam shell.
I’ve got the ‘solid heavy plate’.
I think from memory, I needed a longer bolt to secure the carrier, because the tyre is thicker.
The ‘approach angle’ is much the same.
Thanks again Gerald 215 definitely doesn’t fit but sounds like 205 may well do
Hi Gerald and Peter I noticed the load rating is 96 for destinations and wondered if this was a bit light for our vehicles when loaded. I have a Trakka and when fully loaded she weighs a bit I expect. I am towing a pod trailer also this year not sure if that has a bearing also.
Any thoughts on this appreciated.
I have also noticed they come in 205/70/15 and 205/75/15 the ride height on the latter being taller and wondering which size you run on yours?
205 x 75 x 15…not too wide, not too skinny.
I have a fully loaded camper…no trailer.
I get about 60 to 70K out of them, on 40 psi, and rotate when necessary.
I found one destination at the local Bridgestone shop. She was a tight fit in the carrier ended up putting a jack under the lid to get her up. I expect as it wears it will get easier.
I used to let the tyre down to make it fit. Carried a compressor to pump it up if needed. I now have a wheel carrier at the back. Been searching for another 15” rim that I will get a tyre on so I have two spares for whenever I do a big trip that involves rough roads.
Cheers. Peter
My trial fit today was without a rim. it will be my second spare, main spare on carrier on the back so will only take it off to rotate occasionally and hopefully wont need to get to it otherwise, well thats my hope. What state are you in Peter, Im in WA.
I just use a slightly longer bolt to secure the carrier.
Or, I think you could just deflate it a little, to get you out of trouble if you have a flat.
I have an ARB compressor built in to the engine bay, and carry a repair kit.
Some people’s power steering hoses can rub on the spare. For some reason mine don’t.
Ooops…just read your last post.
Your main spare’s on the back.
Got it…duh!
