Dear Michael,
Of course I wouldn't have minded Les using the picture of what a prized idiot looks like but he obviously wanted a picture to encourage sane, knowledgeable upright citizens to join our trusty band. He was further confirmed in his opinion that there was no one home in the upper paddock when I suggested that perhaps, but only perhaps, it was possible to understand women. However to leave everyone in no doubt whatever could I attach the picture taken from within my vehicle just prior to leaving the Shallow Crossing causeway. Just above the wiper is the ethereal image of a T3 which being of German origin was obviously the Loreley temptress or siren beckoning me on to the rocks,.
I believe they are sending a van with men in white coats to collect me in the morning!.

On your conflict of interest debate I agree one should expect a certain etiquette in these circumstances but did you actually mean the Pendle Hills Caravelle or an earlier one? I see its still advertised for sale and am finding those "go on you know you want it" remarks also hooking in to me.However if its still available and you are after it I will make a gentlemanly withdrawal and my wife will be forever grateful to you.

Finally you did well on listing those who attended Shallow Crossing but for part of the time I was pleased that Neil Smith was also able to join us in his intrepid T2 with his relatively new bride Karen???

Cheers

Roger

Roger

Thanks for picking that one up of Neil and Karen. Hope Les adds them to the registar. Yes mate, I think you need glasses desperately. That Lorelei thing over yonder looks more like like Haggar the Horrible's wife, was it Helga? Germanic I'll give you that!

Yes it was the Pendle Hill Caravelle and the person in question, on my initiating enquiry and request on Friday night went to check out the bona fide's of the car and then phone me with the "yeah or nay" to buy. As i could only get to the car on Sunday midday, the seller guaranteed to me that if the car wasn't sold by Saturday evening that he wouldn't allow an inspection or sell it till I had inspected the vehicle at 1200 on Sunday, ( I explained to him that it was an 8 hour drive and I didn't want to arrive and find it gone, and he understood that) So person in question, who didn't know of the sale of the time, inferred that he would "try to do what I can" but that it was going to very hot and couldn't give a definite answer because of the wife and kids. So he does go on Saturday afternoon, buys it, no phone call, then later in the day says I've brought it, ad that I can have "1st rights to it after I have enjoyed the vehicle". The exact opposite should have been the the case,I have the 24 hours to OK my 1st option, and if not, then he has 1st rights.

So Roger I'm sure you can understand why I might be a bit upset and angry, and after Shallow Crossing which I enjoyed so much and being amongst like minded members, trusted a fellow member to be basically shafted like this. I was really looking out for this type of vehicle to use for business in running wilderness photographic workshops.

By the way Roger I'll waive my copyright for you to frame that image from Shallow Crossing.

Michael,

I request that comment on the Pendle Hill Syncro for sale be stopped at this point while I look into it further.   I do not want damaging accusations to be made without all the facts being known.

This vehicle was in the public domain and the vendor was understandably inundated with enquiries from around Australia .   Anyone using the Car Sales Alert function would have received an automatic notification of this vehicle.

For the time, please put this in abeyance while I collect relevant information.

Les

All,

I learned of this vehicle on Friday when a member rang me.   Due to the fact that electrical storms were very active all around me, I had a lot of difficulty with reception and was losing significant pieces of the call.   As a result, I missed the name of the caller and, given what has followed, I would now like to know who it was.

Les
