New Members, New Record

We have just set a new record for new members in any seven day period outside of the original set-up of the website.
 
Eight new members in seven days!

Has my old man joined?

I have given him the address several times and printed out forms (which
I gave him on the weekend, he just has had a fair bit of trouble
setting himself up.

His name is Ron Pitcher and has a 1 owner syncro transporter window van
which he purchased from Northshore Volkswagen in 1993 (the last T3
transporter sold by Northshore Volkswagen).

If he hasnt yet I will keep at him.

Unless Ron has used his actual name, I haven't any way of knowing.
 
One of the problems with this website is that I have next to no idea who anyone is, since most people will have a user name quite unrelated to their real name.  The odd person can get snakey when I fail to connect their user name "bflspxcykz" to their real name, Augustus Featherhouse.  I failed Mindreading 101, so there's not a lot that I can do about it.
 
Seriously, I am delighted to hear that Ron is an original owner - there are very few of them in Australia.  Please get him up and running so that we can all hear about his one owner Syncro.

(Do I recall that your are in the Central Coast?  I lived on Dangar Island for two years in the early 90's.)

Les,

Yes I am on the central coast and my former boss had a holiday house
on the waterfront at Dangar Island which we had a Christmas Party at
once. Very amusing watching your boss plastered being driven home in
an Aluminium dingy from Broolyn by his rather drunk wife. I think
they made it.

I have been trying for years to get my old man into the group as he
has a great vehicle with only an original 130,000kms on it. It gets
used almost as little as Phill's lovely showroom condition syncro.

He has taken it to Kings Canyon, the Alice, the Rock, up the
bloomfield track to Cooktown and a few places in central Australia
where the locals warned him not to go without a high lift jack.

He has no diff locks but keeps telling me he had no problems at all.

He only replaces tyres because they get to old - not worn out.

The only mechanical problems he has ever had was a water pump early
this year when coming back from QLD.

My folks still live in Narrabeen just down the road from the former
dealership.
