New owner (& member)

Hi All,
I take delivery of a 1989 Transporter window van on Saturday 9/7/05.
Have not been able to determine the history of this vehicle so it
will be a real learning curve as we go. All being well I will be home
in Brisbane on Sunday with my new acquisition.

Looking forward to ownership although not going into this blind. I
expect to have to spend time and money.

My question for the group is whether others can recommend 1) Parts
supplier. 2) Engine/gearbox workshop & 3) Syncro mechanic in the
Brisbane area.

Thanks for all the information I have already gleaned from the
discussion threads.

Ross,

Welcome to the throng. There aren't many of us but we are
enthusiasts and proud of our Syncros. I suggest that you also join
the South African site and the two American sites. A lot of
valuable information passes through them.

By the way, my home town is Beaudesert. I don't get there much but
will certainly chase up the Brisbane members when I am there next.

Welcome Ross.
If you are anything like most of us on this site you will soon become
far too deeply attached to your van!
Living in Brisbane you have at hand many more places that will be
familiar with a Syncro than those of us who live west of the easten sea
board.
Having said that, your most valuable resource will be this and the
other sites that Les mentioned.
If you can, we'd love to see a photo of your van here after you have
picked it up.
Good luck!

Andy.
