Indeed we do, so let’s se what the native German speakers come up with compared with Joachim’s take on it.

Yeh, but Hart is not certified....but he feels that it is really cool to  use lower case...let us adopt it and make it ‘official’.

Hartmut,

After the long battle we have had to get partial and somewhat grudging recognition from the VW Club of Victoria , I wouldn’t like to try it!!!!

On a personal level, I object to dinky kiddywinkie little names.   Something either has a name or it hasn’t.   In the English language, such a name that has an initial capital is known as a Proper Noun.   I would prefer to stay with the initial capital and not be faced with trying to persuade that ‘syncro’ is an actual vehicle.

Well, I reckon the "syncro's" were the best VW's at the DOTVW.

.....and it was nice to catch up in person with some of people I see on this Forum

Peter (Profpinz)

In German all nouns are proper. (Start with a capital)

Les,

In my humble opinion it is a Syncro, it uses syncro technology.

By the way thanks for organising the spot for our Syncros.

But technology would be the noun and syncro would be the adjective.

Les, we could go on and change the badge we have fixed under our r/h tail light. Personally  I  don’t care much about the Victorian Beetle Restorers Society and their assumption what a proper

VW should or shouldn’t look like. For owners of noun syncros it will be Syncro, adjective believers have got the choice of using lower case or they can place a full stop in front of Syncro and it would look

My literacy specialist wife tells me that the use of capitals is diminishing. Only place names and person names are now required to be capitalised. In her opinion, it is definitely syncro.

Steve,

Thanks for that.   Now please ask your wife to explain to VicRoads that we need to have lower case letters available so that I can rectify the misnomer on my number plate.

Les,

The problem with my full name is it's as long as the English alphabet at 26 letters.

You may know that in other forums it started out as:  bentbtstr8
The limitation in length was imposed by my then ISP AOL.com . Remember those guys? So, people didn't get the name which is when I had to choice but to raise the almighty cap key: BenTbtStr8

Later morphed to BenTbutStr8 because a typographical error in entering account information on Yahoo.

Finally, my Internet beard started to grow grey (or is that gray?). Well anyway, I thought for a time to just use my full monogram. But I thought it some might think 'BEST' was a bit pretentious though I often feel I am. Best that is. Not pretentious.

Just as I am 'Tan' all over but not brown, I am BenT as my humor. Of course, that would be humour to you and yours.

my BEST regards,

BenT or bent or bENT or BeNt or TneB
