P.T.O.

Now that's a rare item. I've never even seen a photo of a PTO before.

I wonder if anyone has ever used one?

Indeed very interesting and btw is it a working decoupler too? I  wonder.  They were installed for import duty reasons , thus making the poor Syncro an agricultural implement. Would it only be turning when the vehicle is in motion??? So no firewood cutting?? Come on guys Ken and  I  want more info on this.   hartmut

Not a decoupler, that goes on the output shaft, this runs off the intermediate shaft. So will work with clutch engaged in gear or not. It looks like you could add the decoupler, I can see the indent for the actuator shaft. Would be great on a red tristar with a firefighting water pump pulley-ed up to it, hey Hartmut.

Just thought of another use, Ken could run a second alternator of it.

Actually, a second alternator was an option on Transporters.

I know Phill but I think Ken needs a 250 amp alternator to recharge his lithium battery bank and stay in the bush for two weeks at a time.

There is one for sale on US Ebay. Been for sale for months with no
takers at about US$50. I assume it was some homemade deal.

BenT
Neat eh. And should I ever get my van rolling, I could use that alternator as a brake.  hhhmmmmmm , Greg I think it has legs.

Find your next place with Ninemsn property Looking for a place to rent, share or buy?

Hi Greg,

So , as I understand this, Ken could  couple up the  100 amp alternator (= 1200 watts, old man Ohm’s Law) and use it as a regenerating brake coasting downhill ?? Clutch disengaged o/c . Saving on brake pads and quick charging the 2 deep cyclers....

We are on to something here, can you smell it??    Hartis
