Part question

Hi Everyone,
While at the nationals Graham mentioned that my slightly sloppy gear shift could be fixed with the replacement of a small part in the shift housing. Apparently this part is now available quite cheaply on The Samba. I've checked the Bentleys and Phil's CD but I can't work out what the part is called. Graham did suggest at the time asking the group...so hear I am now appealing to the combined wisdom of the group. Does anyone know what this part is called?
Regards,
Roger. (3)

Roger.

I think it would be a plastic type slipper that goes over the end of the selector frame end section, I am sure that there will be an article on it in the syncro clubs files, allow app $90-00 for the kit , try van cafe in Sydney...bob dale

Thanks Bob I'll follow that lead.

Roger,
Gear selector fork guide repair kits come in two flavours ... from USA and UK. No where else.
I'd recommend this one ....
Read the instructions that come with it, with one reservation concerning their installation.
I wouldn't install the metal pins, just epoxy them in place with the supplied epoxy in the kit.
If the metal pins are installed, eventually a recurrence of the original wear problem may commence ... metal against metal during gear changes.
Remember, the original selector fork nylon guides didn't have metal dowels, for this very good reason.
Cheers.
Ken

That's great thanks Ken I just had a look at the link, it's not too expensive either.
