photos of our van

Very tasty syncro you have there.

You have the full caravelle top of the range options by the look of it.

Even the side planking and plastic bumpers - very stylish.

Any interior shots?

Cheers,

Skot

With a couple of interesting syncros joining the Melbourne "fleet" and a number of the others sporting new wheels and perhaps other developments it seems there might be a good excuse for a brief or longer get together. Is there anything coming up that we could all meet at or would people simply be interested in say a couple of hours over coffee somewhere central say one Sunday morning? The nwjfletcher trakka would seem to be the main draw card.
Just a thought.

Sounds like a great idea Roger. I just what to see you move your two Syncros there 200m at a time. Interesting how these genuine Aust delivery twin locker syncros are turning up. First at the DOTV there was Mark Boys old twin cab ( ex TKM exec I think he said) then the article Roger just posted (you can see the front locker warning sticker in the photo). I would say this would have been a TKM exec's car also with the "VW-000" plates,  and now Nick has found one of Trakka's top end conversions. I suspect someone at TKM had a soft spot for these cars. That's the only cars that they sold at the time.

Yes and no Phill, When tkm took over from ateco in 1990 they sold golfs as well as transporters. It was't untill 1993 that golf took over in sales numbers. Is that because golf got better or transporter went to T4? It warms the heart to think the t3 was the only model to keep presence in Aus with such poor importer and dealer support. Greg E

Count me in, I have started the list of repairs to my beast and it's going well so far, my little diesel is purring like a kitten at the moment, job 117 complete, tick.

A meeting sounds good! We live down in Anglesea where there happen to be some very nice 4WD tracks through the bush at the back... legal tracks for off-roaders. CHeck it out on Google Earth. Haven't taken the van there yet, but just waiting for an excuse!

Anglesea sounds good to me. Most of April seems to be school holidays. What do people think of the venue and how would say Sunday 16 May suit? (Personally have 2 sons' birthdays preceding Sunday).I'm thinking a bar-b-cue chat and a bit of off roading providing there are no causeways to cross.

My 73 kombi has lived down here 8 years and the rust hasnt got worse. My crappy beach Magna however... well we jump in it after a surf with wetsuits on every day, never wash it or polish it. Havent checked out the dirt tracks here in the T3 but they are great on a bike. Come on down!

Just checking that people were paying attention. Thanks Greg. -Rumour has it that  sometimes I don't know what day it is. I did mean Sunday 15th. We seem light on for responses -how about it Melbourne folks or have you all been spooked by fears of rust if going near the coast?

Anglesea sounds good to me. Most of April seems to be school holidays. What do people think of the venue and how would say Sunday 16 May suit? (Personally have 2 sons' birthdays preceding Sunday).I'm thinking a bar-b-cue chat and a bit of off roading providing there are no causeways to cross.

A meeting sounds good! We live down in Anglesea where there happen to be some very nice 4WD tracks through the bush at the back... legal tracks for off-roaders. CHeck it out on Google Earth. Haven't taken the van there yet, but just waiting for an excuse!

Count me in, I have started the list of repairs to my beast and it's going well so far, my little diesel is purring like a kitten at the moment, job 117 complete, tick.
