I have received a response today regarding the VW Nationals and the missing "VW Factory Offroad Watercooled" Category, which was been awarded to VW T3 Syncros in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

"

The special display and category last year was there because of the
anniversary, this year the T3 Syncros should simply be entered into the
"11 Transporter T3 - 1981 to 1992 - All" category.

"

This is inaccurate. Whilst there was a special display last year, the category was also there in 2008, 2009. Previously in 2007 Rick's Syncro won the "T3 All years Std & Modified category" in the absence of the "VW Factory Offroad Watercooled"

So, VW Factory Offroad Watercooled is now scrapped? (I guess it has become the Tiguan / Touareg / Amarok category)

Note, Class 11 also puts us (Syncros) in the aircooled category, which the vehicles obviously are not, and would also preclude Syncros from entering 17 "Factory Off-road - Air-cooled"

Basically as I see it, Syncros are 'Persona non-grata" now at the Nationals. Time for our own "SyncNation" methinks...

Would love to (have had some memorable holidays at Arakoon), but too far for us, alas! Hope you lot have a lovely time, though. Send us the pics of you and your Syncros 'on the Rocks'. I do like that French moniker!
