re: Photos on forum

Les,

I'm experiencing something weird with photo displays to do with the
forum, never had this happen before now.

The photos directory won't display properly and attached pictures to
posts won't display and the page that comes up to display the photo
comes up on screen all out of whack. Weird.

Anyone else presently experiencing this? I've tried accessing these on
different computers but same failure ... suggests something wrong
happening in yahoo forum system.

Ken
Ken,

I thought that was just me. I previously could open the little thumbnails but not anymore.

Maybe we have a virus in our midst?

Cheers,

Scott

Ken,

I had a similar problem during the afternoon but haven’t looked at it since.  It looked like  server problem.

Earlier in the week, the Yahoo server went off and I got a notification that there was a problem and they were working on it.  The Yahoo server does have problems from time to time.  Given the sheer volume that it is handling, this is not really surprising.

I will run it again in the morning to see if it has been restored.

The picture attachment function is still not available as of 1000 hrs Sunday and I have emailed a query to Yahoo.  An automated acknowledgement has come back.

Test of attachment settings.

In view of the current attachment viewing problem, I am looking at the available settings to see if changing settings makes any difference.

Les

OK, that has worked.  I have changed the settings to allow attachments to be attached direct to the email rather than going through the Yahoo file system, which itself is a relatively new function.  The changes that I have just made sidesteps the Yahoo file system.

Phill,

I have been through the settings again and there is now no function to allow message attachments when using ‘Post’ in the group website.  It was there some time ago but Yahoo makes changes from time to time, none of which ever seem to be beneficial to the end user.

You can initiate messages and topics from your own email server by opening a blank email and pasting the group address on the “To” line.  With the changes that I made this morning, you will also be able to add any attachment from your end.

Les,

Nope. No change here for what I'm experiencing.

For example, goto the forum home page, click on the "Photos" directory.
Does it open correctly for you? Not for me.

No it doesn’t, which is why I have:

a)       asked Yahoo for help

b)       changed our internal setting to allow direct attachments in the meanwhile
