I got to spend the day playing in the Oregon High Desert in a TDI Syncro today. I have to say that the torque of the diesel is very impressive. I have attached a couple of pics to show you can see what High Desert is over here. It is at about 3000 ft above sea level and very volcanic, so the ground is a mix of volcanic rocks and ash filled soil. The Syncro has a rear locker and solid shaft and de-coupler, and needed both on the soft slopes and rocky lavar bed crossings.
