RE: [Syncro_T3_Australia] re: Weekend Away ... Sackville, 15 thru 17 Mayþ

Hi Ken and all,

I would really love to come but one of my other pursuits is playing music and I have a show on the Saturday night in the city - priorities I know...

However, there is a chance of getting out there on the Sunday if people were going to be around - or taking a drive - for the day. I don't want to mess with any plans but keep me posted on what you plan for the weekend.

Cheers Murray

Gday Sackvillites and anyone else still considering attending,

Well the weekend jaunt is confirmed and preparation of the facility
underway, thanks in no small measure to our generous hosts, Alan and
Anne. The only spanner in the works I see is if constant rain occurs, I
may cancel it at short notice.

I am extremely pleased about Sydney region member plus Hartmut
(Tristar!!) support to date, so far over the weekend I see 7 syncros
attending ... Mark, Hartmut, Murray (come on Murray, make an effort
please!!!), Sam, Bob, Rick and myself. I'm still to hear from John and
Scott as possible day visitors. The meet kicks off late Friday, looking
good with 5 overnighters around the campfire ... Mark, Hartmut, Murray
(Murray, get your priorities right ok haha), Sam and myself.

Heh guys ...... how did you all manage this? I'm getting the impression
from your responses that your better halves have given you all a no
strings free weekend pass! Sounds like a bit of a struggle for us all
then eh.

I expect this will be a pretty layback syncro-centric meet, somehow we
tend to get excited about informal show and tells, tag-a-long tour of
the scenic locality, photo shoot opportunities on up to 3 different
river ferries, bragfest, BBQ, logfire etc in a convivial riverside
private setting. It's a rare event, so why not indeed.

So anyone else still chewing the cud over attending .... please, there
is plenty of room and you will be made most welcome, let me know early
so I can include you in the email info loop starting next week during
the lead-up.

Cheers.

Ken

Murray and ALL,

Sorry to hear of the clash of events precluding you from attending the
syncro meet this coming weekend, particularly on the Saturday.

What price anyone? ... to hear the heart pumping musical tones of 10 Oz
syncros in sync!

PRICELESS!

I believe that is the number attending. Not bad eh for Sydney region. I
think we may have to corral them all.

Any further interest from members wishing to attend, please let me know
asap. Thank you.

I believe the weather is going to be brilliant. Touch wood.

Cheers.

Ken

Gday Sackvillites and ALL,

This is probably the last update from me ... I head off in a westerly
direction tomorrow am.

Weather is looking fabulous for the weekend .. Sackville 21 degrees
every day and mostly sunny, crisp nights and I've been told only light
fog so far, so looking forward to an excellent meet in pleasant weather.

Hartmut feels he has disconnected enough sensors now from the Tristar,
probably he'll break the land speed record for a 20 y.o. van tomorrow
heading south. Hope he has speed camera alerts on his GPS. I'm sure
we'll get at the root of the Tristar issue over the weekend, be a real
live show and tell event. Everyone bring a toolkit and any spares you
can rustle up just in case. Otherwise we get to pick straws to see who
tows him back to Port.

Sadly, I'm told Rick may not make it now, something has cropped up, but
he still wants to make it if at all possible.

Paul Muller said he would try to contact ppl he knows with syncros ...
albeit late notice .. I've heard nothing back so far.

10 syncros on Saturday is very good, if they all turn up, I'm sure we'll
all be flat out anyway on the day.

Me, I'm really looking forward to the added bonus of camping out for
about 4 nights and a log fire ... can't wait.

See you there ppl and a safe journey to all.

Cheers.

Ken

Gday ALL,

Suffice to say I got the impression everyone who attended the Sackville
meet enjoyed themselves and liked the venue. I believe some need to
practice the art of not getting lost though ... haha.

I'd really hoped for 12 syncros, regrettably the gremlins worked on this
and so ended up with a pretty useful 9 .... not to be sneezed at.

Very nice indeed to finally see a dinkum Tristar in the flesh ... a rare
beast indeed for Australia. Thanks a lot Hartmut. I understand having
now come away from the meet, he is inspired now to bestow extra TLC on
the Tristar in the interests of preservation, something I'm sure the Oz
syncro community will be eternally greatful.

Here's to further successful syncro meets in the not too distant future.

Cheers.

Ken

Thanks again for organising the weekend Ken.

I had loads of fun and didnt even shut up long enough to cook up some snags. You get that many syncros together and you just cant stop talking about them with eachother.

Great fun - lets do it again in some warmer weather.

Cheers,

Scott

Scott,

It was a pleasure to organise and meet new faces .... yours not at all the least!

Next meet? News release shortly. I'm planning for September. I suspect you won't come though. Oh dear.

Cheers.

Ken
