Re: [Syncro_T3_Australia] Rear Tents &/or tents for your rear

Anaconda had this "universal" rear tent for $119.99 in their Easter catalogue.

A current Trakka one for the T5 (with its larger rear door of course) is just under $1000.(see attachment.) Ask me how I know? Yes I have just placed an order for a new T5 GP 400 4motion DSG manual diff lock etc.

Its important to consider the carry size of the tent as I have seen some magnificant rear tents and annexes which never get used as they are just too bulky to pack.I don't know how the Anaconda one score on this scale but was told the Trakka one folds up not much larger than an average sleeping bag.

Hope I'm considered of good intent.

Cheers

Leighton,

This is the one attached to my van which I borrowed for a test run last Christmas:

Its a slightly improved version of the one he made the previous time.

Please can you get some photos of the tent? I would love to see it as I am after one.

Hi All,

Just wanted to let the group know that my old man is selling his syncro.
He wants a bit more room for his proposed long travels away up north for
the winter to help improve his health during winter months. Actually he
wants a lot more room as he has bought a purpose built American Coach
which has everything.

Hence, the syncro will no longer be used.

This syncro has lived on the coast all its life yet it has also been
garaged all its life.

The specs:

Very late 1992 (purchased in 1993) model window transporter
Colour - white with the factory side decals
No diff locks
No Air conditioning
Has power steering fitted in the last 6 years as my dad was struggling
with the steering yet still has the big steering wheel.
Mileage: 148,000kms
New water pump fitted around 5 years ago.
Comes with rear tailgate custom made tent (that sleeves over the
tailgate and drops down the back and sides) which is awesome (as he made
me one too).
Long range fuel tank fitted (stainless steel) with the 2wd factory inlet.
T4 15 inch wheel with white band tyres with good tread - see photo attached
Custom large alloy white powder-coated bull-bar with custom insect and
rock screen.
Very straight and all original.
Has a CD stereo and front door mounted speakers.
Interior panels were all still in good condition and it has a bed in the
back but no seat (just a 2 seater). Has curtains fitted.

Attached is a photo (the only one I can find at the moment.

I will get my dad to take some more photos or bring the syncro up to
Terrigal so I can take some photos.

He thinks $10,000.00 is a fair price which I tend to agree with.

Any interest my dad's mobile is 0403 939 893.

Cheers,

Skot

Francisca your email came through after I sent my one which also made the point about bulkiness.(You could leave 1 of your boys behind at home and just tell them to be good)
The Anaconda tent I was referring to requires you to flip over 2 pages in the catalogue but lo and behold they also have one like you and Graham describe alongside. The solar panels are also tempting.
Cheers
Roger
