Rego Renewal Time - Club Plates?

Hi All,

Is there anyone here in Victoria who has a Syncro on club plates and can explain the benefits and pitfalls of going down this path? My van isn’t getting that much use these days and the normal VicRoads rego seems excessive.

Thanks.

Jon.
I was on club plates in WA, but swapped back as I drive it around quite a bit.
Pros: - really cheap rego
Cons: - can only use it for Club events (nothing stops you from creating your own event on FB - just gotta put up with anyone that comes lol)
- supposed to keep the vehicle original, so no mods

At least in Vic you only have to be 25 years old.

In NSW its 30 years plus.

My syncro is 30 this year 6 months after rego - bummer.

In NSW you get 60 days of driving as part of the $47 annual fee (that includes green-slip) but you have to get in a club (that cost me $25).

Any VW or club events dont count towards the 60 days (they are free extras).

As said - only problem is modifications and syncro Owners have a habit of doing modifications.
