Roadworthy shock

BenT,

after driving the Tristar about  2 years  I scored a set of Boges from Graham Lees who had been competing with the 16" DOKA in the Australian Safari. After the event those shockers  had been given to me by Graham hence I had to instal them.... After using them for about  12 years  240 000km I replaced them because everybody was raving about OME, I got those and
sent the old Boges to Melbourne to a then mate of mine ( think his name was Dinkelmeyer), at  that stage those Boges were still serviceable.
Btw my OMEs are still ok , no complaints here.
I will send Graham a mail and will ask him to remember please ! Graham became big with Beetle Wreckers ( now Smithfield Auto Parts and still a good source for us) . Graham now enjoys life in a tiny seaside town called Yamba , he has 27 VWs of all kind under his house , owns a fish farm and several motels in town.    Hartis

Hi Phill,

The M is a 'shock' for me for sure. Do you know how it differs from the C or N shocks?

Since Hartmut's Tristar was likely a naturalized Aussie, which Boge is he happy with?

I know that fellow personally. Chances are, Steve got that info from someone else. He is an attorney and not an engineer. He does have particularly good research skills. No doubt the information came some source deemed reliable. Thanks or the reminder. I didn't realise had info on shocks. Will ask him concerning his source next time I see him.

But are they REALLY only available in Oz at hundreds of $'s more than the same shocks in the US? I rang ARB who quoted me $770 for the set of 4, while GoWesty do them for $549 (USD). I asked how its possible for GoWesty to import them, ship them, pay dity and make a mark up and do it all for so much less then the company here that makes them... ARB didnt have an answer. Hmm. Anyone found them for less this side of the Pacific?
