hello I have just had my 2.1 syncro motor rebuilt from top to bottom and we are due to fire it up over the next couple of days. I was wondering if it needs to be run in for 1000ks or so before it goes on regular trips long and short? Regards Greg Navarro WA
Turn over buy hand to build up the oil pressure for the first start.
Do not labour the engine and do not use high revs. Do not sit on a constant speed but vary the revs. Keep an eye on the temperature.

Thanks for that. How many hours or km/s would you recommend doing this for.
Start off easy then progressively use more power. Probably about 500kms should be OK. Modern cars don't seem to have as much of a problem than they used to in the 1970s.
