Hey everyone!
Pretty new around here and a new owner of a 89 Caravelle Syncro. Just wondering where a good spot for a second battery is? Is there room under the passenger seat like the drivers? Any help appreciated.
Cheers

I have a 100A Lifepo battery under the passenger seat.
Mines a swivel seat so it sits higher than stock and this battery just fits.

Hi Rusty,
I have a massive camping battery, which lives under the rear bench. But then this is a camper conversion so the rear bench doubles as a rock’n’roll bed.
hope this helps.

Oh wow that looks like the way to do it! Did you have to cut into that compartment? At a quick glance it doesn’t look like mine has been opened yet.
Cheers
Ahh interesting! I do believe there could be some space under my rear bench seat. The guy i purchased from said that was where the Microtech ECU lived so I might have to go exploring!
Thanks mate!
Hi Rusty,
The only thing I did was remove the battery cover metal lid (which I had to do when installing the factory swivel seat).
That battery just fits and works well as its a dead useless space.
I like putting camping gear and recovery under my rear seat and fill that easily.
Sweet, I’ll have a look when i get a spare chance. Looks like a good spot for it!
I use 2 105 AH LFP these batteries under both front seats https://www.lithiumpro.co.uk/newshop/12v-lithium-battery?srsltid=AfmBOoquYHKtLeyEDF2DlArvs44YQp9qxA0AhGjY7Nt2OHj0Y7YGxtvB
These batteries are a direct replacement to a lead acid 70 AH in the design and box dimensions, so just plug and play.
each battery has its built in BMS, and are certified for camper installation. On can connect in parallel or series. They feature a Bluetooth connectivity to the phone app.
Finding this type pf battery is easy in the UK and Europe. May be in Australia too.
Yeah…wow…they look like a perfect fit!
Fits perfect indeed. This and the internal BMS were the reasons for choosing it.
Yes, that’s also why I bought my Renogy as it has an internal BMS.
I can even shut it down completely when not in use which adds a level of safety.
