Selling my Syncro - Maybe!

Hi Folks

I’ve been really quite on this forum for quite a while – but I have been reading posts! Largely, this is because I’ve just not been using the big blue Syncro for what its meant for. My travel is largely work-related and international and when I get back I just don’t feel like taking off in the Syncro. She’s largely been sitting unused but safe in my garage and getting a local drive every second weekend. With that in mind I’ve decided that if I can find the right buyer and get the right price I’ll contemplate selling her to a new caretaker J .   However, I’m in no rush and I might well change my mind! Maybe you can talk me out of it?? It’s really going to hurt and I didn’t think I’ ever sell!  Also, I know it’s worth a very decent price so I’m open to expressions of interest but only realistic ones!

Many on this forum have seen the vehicle at one time or other (Nationals etc) and would probably agree that as a 89 Trakka gold pack full camper it is one of the best around. You’d also be aware that I’ve maintained it fastidiously. It’s actually a much better van than I purchased from owner number 2 some 10 years ago.

Just some of the many many features include:

Only 180000 original Klms (really)

Rear Dif lock

Solar Panels built into pop top

Factory Alloys

Front and Rear bull bars

Rocaro style swivel seats

Original Side and Rear tents/Annexes

‘Boot Box’ that attaches to rear bull bar

Shower

Pop-top bed panels

Sun-visor and stone guard for front windscreen (currently not fitted)

Air-conditioning (needs gas, could do with some revamping)

4 speaker stereo system – rear speakers in pop-top.

I replaced the viscus some years ago

It recently had a new break cylinder fitted.

I’ve got all work receipts, and I even have the original sale receipt – over $60k when sold new in 1989.

Of course it has a few very minor scrapes and scratches expected – but overall it looks fantastic, runs perfectly, is a Syncro owner’s dream, and is an extremely rare vehicle. I’ll forward more photos as I put some together for anyone that wants them. I haven’t advertised beyond this forum as yet and don’t know if I will!  Although maybe everyone here is currently a happy owner and no-one is in the market.

Best Wishes

Murray

Hey Murray, Nice Syncro remember when you bought it and posted some pics thought then it was one of the best I had spotted,<from pics only> Wish I had 30 plus burning a hole in my pocket and about to buy a new Commodore would be changing plans and banging on your door

Good Luck

Pete

Thanks Pete

Yep, she's a good one alright. It's also never let me down.

I should also add that the vehicle is in Annandale in Sydney's Inner west - and I can be contacted on 0414655906 or Murray.lee@sydney.edu.au

Cheers Murray

Hi Murray

Might want to hold off...
A few of us are planning a big trip to Bendethra next year.
Maybe just after Easter. Exact date not set yet.
Could be one of those adventures of a Syncro lifetime...

And of course there will be 2 options for the route.
The easy way (still *&^*% steep) or the hard way (you just need new off road tyres).

More on that later.

That’s what I need Pete, the likes of you in my ear telling me to hold on to her :)

It does have Cooper ATRs on it, not aggressive enough you reckon?

Cheers M

Hi Murray

Sorry about that...one last adventure...and you did say maybe!

With regards to tyres I will start up a new topic.
Designs change and it would be interesting to see what the brain trust thinks.
